For example at Harford Technical High School, juniors and seniors are designing and building a high-efficiency home for Habitat for Humanity. At Living Classrooms in Baltimore City, young men who are working to turn their lives around are completing 40-week training programs in construction and carpentry. At Kennedy Krieger High School, students with learning disabilities have assembled their own kitchen workshop in order to learn all facets of kitchen remodeling. And at colleges and universities around the region, talented students are using much-needed scholarships to gain education in construction and design.
The BC&E Foundation supports all of those projects and many more. Created nearly 15 years ago, the non-profit Foundation’s prime mission has been to promote careers in construction and design, and support the education of interested and promising individuals.
