In Memoriam: Bruce Votta

The BC&E community was saddened to learn of the passing of Bruce Votta in August, following a battle with cancer.

A long-time volunteer and board member with the BC&E and BC&E Foundation, Votta served as BC&E president in 2002.

Born in Baltimore, Votta was an entrepreneur and a principal at Spears/Votta and Associates for nearly four decades. He became a senior vice president with Bala | SVA Consulting Engineers after the two companies merged in 2018.

Outside of work, Votta generously gave his time and talent to many volunteer efforts, including work for ASHRAE, the Engineers Club, the Community College of Baltimore County and Mercy High School.
