New funds for Hoen renovation and construction trades center

The Hoen Lithograph Building redevelopment received an infusion of federal and city funding this summer. The U.S. Economic Development Administration is providing a $1.6-million infrastructure grant for the project, which will be matched by another $1.1 million from Baltimore City’s Department of Housing and Community Development.

A public-private partnership, led by Cross Street Partners, is executing the $28.4-million transformation of the 85,000-square-foot industrial facility into the Center for Neighborhood Innovation. It will include small businesses and training facilities, including a large building trades apprenticeship center operated by Associated Builders and Contractors-Baltimore. BC&E Member Froehling and Robertson is a contractor on the renovation.

BC&E recognized as major Baltimore association

Building Congress & Exchange ranks as one of the largest associations in Greater Baltimore, according to the Baltimore Business Journal. With 2018 revenues of $415,000 and a membership of 175, BC&E ranked number 17 on the BBJ list. Thank you to our members for helping us make the list.
